As one of the rare people to have personally survived abortion, I feel I have a unique appreciation of the evil of abortion. With so many options for birth control, and science showing that a baby’s heartbeat, as well as their brain waves, start at 6 weeks, the science is becoming clear. Human life starts before birth.
I know that human life starts at the moment of conception and should be legally protected. I am incredibly focused on abolishing this new form of slavery where unborn human children are the “personal property” of their mothers to do with as they will.
As a child of a single mother, I also have great empathy for mothers who find themselves in difficult positions in life. We should help young mothers and fathers as much as we can, as a society that values life. As your State Senator- District 3, I will actively promote programs that attempt to keep housing affordable, expand technical schools and apprenticeship opportunities, and bring labor-intensive jobs to Idaho. In addition we must do our best to keep healthcare low by improving choice.
I also want to offer safe, no-cost delivering of babies for American citizens who are Idaho residents at local hospitals for those in need. I will also work to strengthen “Baby Moses laws” or Safe Haven laws so that unharmed babies can be left legally and safely with designated private persons or agencies, and I will continually work to improve the adoption process.
